Program Details

Dave Erickson, of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, will present and answer questions about EPA’s “Transparency” Rule.

In an effort to boost transparency, the Environmental Protection Agency plans to place restrictions on the research it will consider in developing regulations. The new rule will exclude scientific studies that are not publicly available in a manner sufficient for independent validation. The move prompted an uproar from scientists who are concerned that the rule may undermine the EPA’s ability to protect public health.
