The Humboldt Bay Decommissioning & Demolition Project was for the dismantlement, remediation, and restoration of a small nuclear reactor (63 MW) in northern California.Nuclear Power Decommissioning  The project’s remote location, inclement weather, and proximity to Humboldt Bay posed significant challenges and risks in executing the project. The project concluded in September 2019 after 6+ years of field work with zero lost time injuries and over 1.7M hours worked. The presentation will cover the decommissioning, remediation, demolition, and restoration of the 102-acre site.
