SUMMARY:The Accidental PCB Expert: Monday Mayhem or Calm Cleanup - Jan 2026
  Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Accidental PCB Expert: Monday Mayhem or Calm Cleanup \n12:0
0 pm CT - Presentation via Zoom\n\nLogin information will be sent to parti
cipants 1 day prior to the event.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSummary\nPCBs have a way o
f showing up when schedules are tight and budgets are fixed. This sessio
n translates EPA’s TSCA regulations into a field playbook any site a
ssessment or remediation professional can use the moment PCBs enter the pi
cture. We will show how to make day-one decisions that keep people safe an
d projects on track\, how to choose the right cleanup lane under 40 CFR 76
1.61(a)\, 761.61(b)\, or 761.61(c) in plain language\, how to route wastes
without losing disposal options\, and how to put the critical deadlines o
n the schedule so nothing slips. We will also cover working productively
with the EPA PCB Coordinator using the FAST approach to speed review an
d gain clear written approvals. After presenting the framework\, we wi
ll connect each step to real project case studies\, demonstrating what w
orked\, what almost derailed the jobs\, and how the teams achieved clean\,
  defensible closures.\nSpeakers:\n\nNick Godfrey\n\nMr. Godfrey is a Vice
President and Principal at Environmental Works with more than 25 years of
 experience in environmental compliance\, remediation\, industrial hygiene\
, and environmental risk management. He has managed over 30 voluntary clea
nup programs projects to achieve closure\, 12 EPA National Priority List s
ites\, and more than two decades of IDIQ contract work with city\, state
and federal agencies\, including conducting 5 TSCA/PCB cleanups across t
he Midwest in the last 5 years.\n\nA KU environmental studies graduate\, f
ormer US EPA responder\, building inspector\, wetland delineator and drill
rig operator\, Nick is especially passionate about Brownfields redevelo
pment\, helping restore and repurpose blighted properties into community a
ssets. He is committed to supporting municipalities and private clients an
d strengthening the community where he lives and works. He resides in Ov
erland Park\, Kansas with his wife and four children—who joke that ever
y drive becomes a project tour they wished they didn’t attend.\n\n&nbs
p\;\n\nEd Creaden\n\nMr. Creaden is a Principal Scientist at Environmental
Works with more than 35 years of experience in environmental site assessm
 ent\, remediation\, and compliance across rail\, mining\, industrial\, co
mmercial\, and Brownfields properties. His work has included application
of advanced site characterization tools and data to support effective
design and implementation of remediation strategies at a wide variety of
petroleum hydrocarbon and chlorinated solvent impacted sites. At EWI\,
he has led and supported PCB assessments and cleanups\, guiding client
 s through self-implementing\, performance based\, and risk-based paths whi
le coordinating with regulators and aligning cleanup goals with practical
 solutions\, construction schedules\, and redevelopment plans.\n\nOver his
career he also served as a branch and regional manager for national con
sulting firms\, taking on financial\, operational\, and administrative res
ponsibilities while building high-functioning teams and client programs.
Joining Environmental Works in 2024 marked a full-circle return to what
Ed enjoys the most in his career: managing projects\, solving tech
nical problems\, and helping clients navigate environmental compliance
with clarity and confidence\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nPlease select onl
y one Ticket Type.  If you need to register more than one person\, regist
 er each separately.\n\n&nbsp\;
