DESCRIPTION:Program details\n\n&nbsp\;\nSustainability at JCCC:\nThe tour w
 ill provide an overview of how sustainability is being implemented at JCCC
 \, including using campus as a living laboratory\, incorporating sustainab
 ility education across the entirety of the curriculum\, guiding students t
 o make all careers more sustainable\, and the imperative to focus on susta
 inability as a mindset beyond personal behaviors. The tour will also cover
  additional topics such as how composting is implemented at JCCC and the c
 ampus farm\, food\, food waste\, and associated greenhouse gas impacts\, 
  stormwater maintenance\, native plants\, and bioremediation.\nKristy Howe
 ll\, Ed.D\, Coordinator Sustainability Education and Engagement will condu
 ct the tour.\nSo much of our work in sustainability\, equity\, and educati
 on gets disconnected from the people who lead it that Kristy Howell think
 s of herself as a sustainability storyteller. Dr. Howell is the Education 
 and Engagement Coordinator in the Center for Sustainability at JCCC\, wher
 e she’s worked since 2014\, focusing on developing student leadership f
 or campus sustainability\, supporting faculty curriculum development\, mai
 ntaining and reporting institutional sustainability data\, and advancing i
 nstitutional diversity and equity work. While telling the story of sustain
 ability doesn’t have to include a tour\, Kristy has led hundreds of them
  since joining the team at JCCC\, and she’d say her favorites happen whe
 n folks have lots of questions – and when there’s snow on the ground. 
 Sharing the story of sustainability on campus through tours for students a
 nd visitors is among her favorite tasks!\n\nNote: as the tour will involve
  walking across campus\, please indicate whether you would like accommodat
 ions. The event will be conducted indoors in the event of inclement weathe
 r.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nIf you are paying by check\, select Pay at the door.
